Our Board

Georgina
Co-founder
As a teacher, I could look around and see that the last ones to be educated were the rural girls. My current passion is connecting the dots between climate activism and the education of girls.

Pakina
Co-founder
I am a strong believer in Education to make a better world. Educating women is one of the best things we can do because educated women become mothers who will educate their children.

Barbara Salazar

I graduated from Medical School and later became a Natural Health professional.
I am also a published author. I started as the Scholarship Chair and this year it is my honor to be the President of such a beautiful organization.
Claudia Laffourgue

I believe that education is the most valuable tool that we can give to girls. I fell in love with the project from the first day when I met some of the girls and saw the effort they made to be able to continue studying.

Daniel Medina Siller

I believe the support we give has a great impact on the girls in our community and empowers them to define their own futures, professionally and personally.

Robin Polanco

I have always believed education is the best way to build a person’s confidence and independence while enjoying their chosen profession.

My background as a counselor at the community college level and my strong advocacy for women’s empowerment made becoming involved with Mujeres en Cambio a natural choice. My passion is for supporting women.

Barbara Wilson-Clay

Amistad Canada

Amistad is a registered nonprofit organization in Canada whose mission it is to improve the lives of Mexicans in need through better health, education and social justice. It is an all-volunteer organization consisting of Canadians who spend time in Mexico.
Amistad Canada provides Canadians with a charitable framework within which they can more effectively lend a hand to those in need. To that end, Amistad Canada undertakes projects with local community-based partners to address and help close gaps in services.
On Canada Day, July 1, 2019 we began our relationship with Amistad. MeC Board Member Erika Sadler from Montreal, Canada is our Amistad Project Chair.
If you are a Canadian anywhere in the world, you can make a donation and receive a tax related receipt by visiting Amistad Canada. Please be sure to specify Mujeres en Cambio as your donation recipient.
